The Skoolie Homestead Community offers you the opportunity to build your bus independently with help and input from our resident Skoolie expert Brett, or we can do specific jobs for you once on our schedule.

If you are converting yourself and you just need some expert help from someone who knows school bus conversions inside out, we can do just that for you. Whether insulation work, internal carpentry, or specialist welding, Homesteader Owner, Brett has the skills, tools and flexibility to work on whatever is needed to make your Skoolie home on wheels road-ready. These specific jobs will be scheduled on Brett’s calendar when time is available. Hourly rate is $65/hour. Additionally, we are here to help you transition into skoolie living, purchasing a school bus or van to suit your needs and if unsure or uneasy driving your skoolie, we can help with driving lessons and pointers to make you a more confident driver. We are also here to either store your skoolie and/or sell your skoolie for you. We are your one-stop place to assist you from start to finish of your skoolie dreams.
Stay with us as your School Bus work is underway
We have several 'Skoolie build' electric sites on our three acres of land in Georgia, offering plenty of space for you to work on your bus, DIY. We also offer a variety of accommodation options so that you can stay onsite and join our Skoolie Homestead Community. This group of like-minded people is a valuable resource, offering support, advice and skills-swap opportunities that will help you with your project. It also means you can stay comfortably on site throughout your build.
Consultations
We understand that not everyone has the luxury of coming to our Skoolie Homestead Community to build their dreams. We are also available for Consultation calls to help you along the way. We can assist with your layout plans, types of products to use and where to purchase them, solar and HVAC advice and so much more from A to Z. The hourly rate for a consult is $65/hour. So get your questions together and give us a call to get yourself moving along with your bus build dreams.
Previous project work has included initial gutting of the bus and removal of seats, roof raises, welding, carpentry, insulation, installation of all electrics and plumbing, solar and propane, roof decks, paint work, heating and air conditioning.
